Welcome to MudLites

MudLites are lanterns made from clay, fired, glazed, fired again and then used to light a path or inspire a new direction.

MudLites as a group came about when Nancy Bane Cresta from Spiral Leaf Studio gathered together  an accomplished group San Francisco Bay Area ceramic artists to show their work in October of 2014 for the Autumn Lights Festival in the Sensory Garden at the Gardens at Lake Merrit From there, things kind of spiraled into the galleries and events you will find listed here.

The artists of MudLites will change and grow as the events shift and peoples lives carry them in new directions, but the idea of lanterns and shinning a light in the darkness will be with us always.
